FedSources Releases Groundbreaking Federal Energy Analysis
First-of-its-kind report provides data on federal energy spending and consumption

According to “The Federal Energy Domain” report, the U.S. Federal government spends $58.6 billion each year on energy contracts. The government spends this money on vastly different types of technology, products, and services – from fossil fuels that run military and Postal Service vehicles to smart-grid research initiatives to power production.

This, he said, is the kind of spending the report highlights. “This report is not about the greening of government, it’s about energy as a concept – as a domain,” he said. “It provides a strategic look at energy across government, as it relates to our goal of achieving energy independence.”
Spending Details
“ The Federal Energy Domain” report breaks down contractor-addressable government energy spending into three categories: Energy Consumption, Energy Production, and Energy Management. The report maps out spending across each of these areas – by the highest energy-consuming agencies and by the areas providing the most opportunity for energy providers and government contractors.
