On March 18, 2010, the Air Force Material Command released Questions and Answers (Q&A) for the Design Engineering Support Program (DESP III) acquisition. The Government expects to release the solicitation in March 2010, with proposals due in April 2010. An award is anticipated to be made in the second quarter of calendar year 2011. Services under this contract will create and implement a program to provide design and engineering/technical support services for the Department of Defense mission weapon systems, components, and support equipment to process analysis and improvements for maintenance/repair operations.
This full and open competition has a small business set-aside portion. The awarded contracts will result in Cost Reimbursement, Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), Cost-Plus-Incentive-Fee (CPIF) and/or Firm Fixed-Price (FFP) task orders. The potential value of this contract is $1.9 billion over a seven year period of performance.
